The Streets - Original Pirate Material

The Streets is a hip-hop group from the U.K that had a very unique sound to them. The album Original Pirate Material was their first full length album and it blew me away. From the start they get you pumped up with Turn the Page as the intro. What I really enjoy about this album is that it has a lot of variety, from the beats to the lyrics and meanings. There are a lot of fantastic songs on this album. The golden songs are definitely: Has is Come to This?, It's too Late, Weak Become Heroes, and Stay Positive. This songs are pretty emotional and have a lot of meaning. Out of those songs, Weak Become Heroes is THE song. It's about a night on the town and how it works. It's very intense lyrically and has a beautiful beat. With all this seriousness in these songs, they break the tension well with songs like: Too Much Brandy, Don't Mug Yourself, and The Irony of it All. This was by far their best album but when you listen to it, you can understand why. This album is very hard to beat. I give this album an 8/10. The only thing I really didn't enjoy about this album is "Geezers Need Excitement" there was nothing really special about that song, but everything else was fantastic. I really recommend this album, this is a very unique hip-hop album I think everyone should give it a try.

Scooter - Music for a Big Night Out

Scooter is an electronic band from the UK that has been around for quite some time now. Music for a Big Night Out is their most recent album... and they NAILED IT. This album has so much energy and excitement in it that you feel like you're in the crowd jamming out. From the start of the album, in the intro, you get pumped and you're just ready to go nuts from then on out. The album was very strong from the very beginning, with I'm a Raver Baby, Army of Hardcore and 4 AM to start out, you're at your peak of raving in the club... or in your head, I don't judge... Anyways, these songs take you for an extremely exciting ride with catchy beats, fun vocals and great effects. I feel like the Golden song on this album is 4 AM. From the crowd at the beginning to the female vocalist with the extremely strong voice, this song is just a hit and was definitely a perfect fit for early in the album. The only song I really wasn't feeling was Overdose. It was rather silly whereas the rest of the album has a fun intensity to it which is totally what Scooter is about. I feel like that song doesn't really belong with Scooter in general. I highly recommend this album to anyone who enjoys electronic music, they go from Pop to Happy Hardcore, they're all over the place and very fun. Overall, I definitely give this album a 9/10, this album was near perfect. Overdose is the main reason I lowered it to a 9, I enjoyed every song on it and I think a lot of other people will too.

Wiz Khalifa - O.N.I.F.C

So by this time, everyone knows Wiz Khalifa... I just had never really listened to an album from him. I will say I was pleasantly surprised with this album. The beats were fantastic and he's very talented at rapping. His little gimmick is cool too (the little laugh), you tend to see that a lot in hip-hop but I still like it. Not particularly crazy about the lyrics, but still a fairly good album. This is a long album too, 17 songs is quite a bit when it comes to an album. There are definitely songs that stick out above the rest, including: Bluffin, Got Everything, Fall Asleep, and Time. The problem is there are songs like "Its Nothin'" that just balance out the album and keep it from being a great album. That was really the biggest downside, I'd give this album a 6/10, there are more good songs than bad, but there were a lot of bad songs so I was iffy with the rating. It's definitely not a must check out, but it's still decent.

Sean Key - Moving Forward EP 8/10

Sean Key is an artist coming out of Atlanta and is very talented. He really mixes up his sound and this is album is no different. It has a Pop Rock/Synthpop sound to it. Very catchy and upbeat definitely something to enjoy. Something else I really enjoy about this album is you can really feel a lot of emotion coming from this album. Especially from Walk Away and Moving Forward, definitely my favorite songs from the EP. Another plus is the placing of the songs on the EP, it really set the mood of the EP that way. There were just little things for each song that I felt like could have been a little better, but overall this is a fantastic album and I suggest you all check it out. I don't normally do this but I'm going to post the link to his bandcamp so anyone can download his album for free and enjoy it!
