Thursday was one of my favorite bands for quite some time so I thought I should make a post about them. They are a post-hardcore/alternative rock band from New Brunswick, New Jersey that broke up in late 2011. They were a major influence in the revival of the Post-hardcore scene and still influence bands, for example Touche Amore. Thursday made six studio albums, two splits (One with Thrice and one with Envy), and two live albums. Their first album, Waiting (1999), was very different from everything else they did. It was more Post-hardcore where as most of their other music is more alternative rock until you get to their final album, No Devolución (2011), where I feel more of a pop influence. The vocalist, Geoff Rickly, has an extremely unique voice that contrasts with the secondary singer which works very well. The instrumentals change a lot throughout the albums, they have the same sound but different, if that makes sense. My favorite album from them would have to be Common Existence followed closely by Full Collapse but you should check out every album if you're interested in them at all. They have a special place in my heart and I would love for anyone who reads this to check em out.
